Photo Shoot - reminicising the past

We've completed our wedding photo shoot on Monday. It has been a tiring ordeal for us and the photographer - Tuckys! It has been tough on him and we really appreciate his efforts. He's most prob more tired than us... we sent him back to his studio and brought him out for dinner after the shoot. He was very nice and returned us all soft copies plus shortlisted 80 photos for us on the nite itself with his tired mind. So I believe with a clear mind, he would be able to select even better pictures together with us.
This pig was given to Alvin from me when we first started dating. Since i was rather lazy and was unable to complete my cross-stitched ring pillow, we have used our so called "ting qing zhi wu" to represent us and placed the rings on top of it.

haha, I think i'm a tough nut to crack when it comes to taking "Posey" shots. I just do not have it, so i have to fake it. But i've requested to take something more of these shots instead of the happy normal me, coz the reason why i've chosen tuckys was for one sensuous shot he took for a couple. I know one shot doesn't mean he can engaged all couples to do the same, but we had a good mix of both candid and posey/attitude type of pictures. Besides sensuous pics, he's very good at capturing the moment. The natural feel.

Well, I was thinking Alvin will look very good in both the candid and serious photos. Normally, brides will be the focus, I tink this time, you guys will like the groom more. He has this natural "cool" and photogenic look, he doesn't has to act at all. At the end of the day, I'm not sure if the pics will turned out well, coz i can't do a good job. But i really appreciate all the help and concerns given from my friends, divine, fluv, joanne and tuckys.

I loved the flowers Fluv did, but we didn't do many shots with it until the WG, coz we kept forgetting to bring it out with us. Using a mixture of berries, pink eustoma and my favourite white roses. These shots are taken by myself.














The best part of the day was when it ended, when both of us were home and about to tuck in. My darling boy dropped me a very sweet sms. He seldom expresses his feelings, but the short sms says so much of how he looked forward to our wedding, and it has touched my heart once again. I guess this photo shoot brought us even closer, perhaps this is one reason why ppl say love grows daily. It grew enormously these few days after the shoot, we are like back in our honeymoon stage when we first started out again. If money and time spent can grow love, its worth it. Of coz, it takes both hands to clap, love has already taken place, its how we want to grow it.

The day started with drizzle, we went to McDonald's and bought ourselves and the team some breakfast. It got me a little worried, but i told myself to stay positive. Raining could be good as its cooling and we can take more romantic photos. Joanne did a good job for both my hair and make-up. She made my good skin looks flawless. The first outfit for the day was Evening Gown. I had lots of prob achieving what tuckys wanted and progress was slow. Lucky, my dear boy did a good job if not, we wont have much photos for the 1st location at Emerald Hill. As time approaches noon, the drizzle stopped , still the sky was cloudy. We rushed back for our 2nd hair-do and outfit.

Both of us feeling like STARS were walking down the busy orchard road. My Cheong Sum is now the highlight, we went to Takashimaya, both inside and outside the mall. We got stares, somewhat i didn't feel embarrassed, just CAMERA SHY like tuckys say. Took some pics and left the place in a haste. Alvin first held my hands in Takashimaya, so its a place we have to go :) Come to think of it, the day he first held my hands was drizzling too!

Finally its time to take pics of the WG. We went to Ben & jerrys at dempsey for the shoot, guess wat? it was closed! Hmm.. things just seemed like it didn't go well for us. I've went to the store personally to check if they're open on a Monday. Well, they said they are opened on a Monday from 10.30am onwards, so what happened?? Tuckys reaction was quick and we didn't have a wasted trip, we took some pics outside the store and went back to Mandarin for a nice lunch.

We took a lot of pictures in Mandarin with the WG on. Not willing to give up, we went back to Ben & Jerrys and its still closed! Sigh, so we headed off to Harrys Bar in my evening gown. We didn't managed to take any sunset shot as it was rather cloudy. Normally the shoot will end at 7pm, but ours ended at abt 9 or 9.30. We took a few night shots, and 2 are pretty nice. We loved our last take. Nicole was with us from abt 8pm onwards, so she saw us posing... i think we've become very natural at posing by the time nic arrives. The picture on the left was not the last pic, just one of my favs.

Love songs and photo shoot

I'm feeling very sleepy and tired rite now, as its already 3am. wanted to slp earlier so that i will look pretty on my photoshoot this coming monday, but i just feel like listening to some nice love songs. As i listen, i just wanted to share some thoughts. I've been preparing a list of songs that I felt is suitable for wedding. As the months goes by, i realised i have decided to change the first march in song. Although, meaningful to the both of us, it has been used over and over again.

Many years back, when i first listened to this song, i wanted it to be part of the wedding, and a coincidence, when Alvin proposed to me, "From This Moment" was playing on the radio. I thought its really fated. But somehow many ppl have been using this song for their first march-in, well good songs are always popular. I also always wanted to play "Lady in red" for my 2nd march-in, its something different and special. But when i was choosing my EG, jessica (my designer) says red doesnt suit me as it will be too mature on me. Honestly, i always felt i look good in red, haha but maybe it does makes me more mature so i decided to heed her advise. I tink the green i've chosen is nice! Just tat it will be a little weird if i play tat song. If my wedding is in a western style, that we get to have the first dance, and wearing red dancing with that song will be so romantic! Its like acting out what the song is.

Alvin is back in town and is now celebrating one of his best buddies bachelor's night. Tmr morning our Sofa will arrive and we will be heading down to Divine in the afternoon to collect our gowns and suits for the Monday shoot. A total of 5 sets! hahaa we will behave and act like models on Monday, nothing but taking photos and changing of clothes. 3 of my gowns and 2 sets of his suits. Well, its getting me realli excited and happy. I pray that everything goes well. Mr Alvin always has a very cool and cold look, think he's very suitable for those attitude looking pictures. As i always try to look like i've a character, somehow its hard for me to get rid of that "sweet" image. Vice versa, its tough for him to act funnie or like a cutie pie. I tink our photos will be quite funnie since we look so different. haha, but its okie. That's us. Be it how the pictures turn out, most importantly is we have fun and enjoy the process together.

OKIE REALLY GOT TO SLEEP... if not all the money spent on my face will be wasted. haha

birthday

Today is my birthday and i sincerely thanks those who remembers. I think remembering is the birthday gift itself. I no longer need any pressies, but i dun mind receiving haha. I mean receiving presents are always nice, but all i need is just a simple "happy birthday". Nothing beats to have someone remebering ur birthday, especially if that somebody is impt to you. If Mr Lim is around today, i'll be happier but even though he's not i'm still happy.

Moving on, this year will be different, this is my last birthday before i get married. The feeling is weird, as i'll be moving on to the next stage of my life. Well, now i just have to enjoy being single for the next few mths till the big day arrives!

Happy Sick Birthday

It has been a great night meeting up with my poly mates on Monday. They have celebrated my birthday with me in advanced... treated me to a nice dinner at Prego. Jo, Chel, Nic and Jeff were present. It has been a long while since i last saw Chel and Jo. Sorry gals, i feel realli guilty when i saw u guys on Monday nite for not meeting up for so long. The weird thing is, i actualli miss u gals when i am with u gals :)

After dinner we went to Loft, for some wine. The first bottle was not very nice, the second one was good and we ordered another 2 more bottles after that. We had a total of 4 bottles that night, perhaps thats what caused my food poisoning and i'm on MC today and tomorrow, but i tink i will make it back to work tmr if I can. Its my first month there i dun tink its very right to fall ill. Felt so bad... sigh diarrhoea and vomits... :( but what was good was the time spent at loft. We really had lots of fun, chatting and updating each other abt our lives. It's been a long time since we have such long chat. The previous time i rem was at nicole's birthday. We had drinks in club street. I enjoy chilling with them more than clubbing, as we have more time to chat and enjoy each other accompany. We are meeting up again next week for Jodie's birthday at Mono in St. James. hey guys, thanks for meeting up! i really appreciated it and i had fun though i'm sick... *puke again* hehehe... so see u next week. MUACKS!!!

I must get better soon, so that i will be ready for my photoshoot! I want to be pretty pretty. Talking about the shoot, nicole contributed a lot on ideas to where i can take my photos. She suggested reddot museum and many people said its a good suggestion! She also shared with me on many other ideas... of where i can do the shoot. But realli like the reddot one, even tuckys say its good...hehe.. i initially wanted to go to Grand Shanghai to do the shoot, as i realli like it there, saw some photos Tuckys took in Grand Shanghai, very nice! But its ashamed that they are not opened on a Monday! Well what to do??? we'll have to look for other locations then :(

I'm really getting excited abt the shoot. I've got lots to buy too... shoes for the groom, white shirt... some hair accessories... wah so many things! Plus my house needs my attention as well... need to change the door lock, buy kitchen accessories... etc.. faint.. MR LIM come back quick :)

Happiness and Love is in the Air

"Love is in the air.. oh oh oh oh...love is in the air!!!" Singing out loud in my head as i begins to type. I had a wonderful time on Saturday, 16th June. Very happy... though wedding preps has been getting me short fused but it has brought me enormous amt of happiness. I felt very loved yesterday :) Threw little tantrums at the beginning when we were on our way out, but happiness sets in as we reach our first destination. (by the way this is not my bday gift... we took this pic at a restaurant after our dinner )

Florist Visit

We first went to Fluv, our wedding florist, selected our photoshoot bouquet. He said i look sweet.. but i don't really want to be sweet. But anyhow, he gave me very good advices and has incorporated white roses into the bouquet. White roses is something that i like very much! And i always wanted to have white roses for my wedding. Perhaps for actual day, i will use white roses. I love his signature piece, the one with the feathers... :) He is very friendly and easy to talk to... and we even chatted for awhile...

Wedding Bands

Next, the exciting part is we went to Fairy's Inc and have collected our Wedding Bands! Looks beautiful to the both of us as these represent us... When the lady handed us the rings she made a comment "I didn't know that the design is so meaningful until the rings were completed"... we both smiled. I always wanted to customise our own, and i like very complicated stuff, but alvin doesnt. One day i finally thought of something simple, but meaningful to the both of us. A simple symbol of the sun, as we got together after watching a sunrise. In the ring, we engraved " Sunrise, the beginning of our journey..." it was then we started, and leading to our marriage today. We were extremely excited when we tried the rings... hehe the lady even taught alvin how to put it on for me... so cute :) thanks fairy's inc for helping us realised wat we wanted... gonna wear it for a life time... so it must be right!

Wedding Gowns and Suits

Next, final fitting and make up trial for the suits and gowns! Here is just a photo to share... see more at our wedding :) Joanne, my make-up artist is one humorous lady! She is such a professional and i loved her make-up...she's like the fairy god mother, turning me from Cinderella to a pretty princess... haha she also said i look sweet... and so she gave me a choice.. "sweet" or "elegant" look, i went for the latter. HOw can i be sweet?? okie perhaps looks are deceiving... character wise i'm not sweet.. i'm tomboy... the effects with the make-up is so different.. its so complete, we are ready for the shoot. Opps, alvin's new set of white suit is not, left the pants. Will be ready by coming Sat. :) He loved his suits, though the design for the white one is almost the same as the black one, we just wanted to have a change of colours. I want him to enjoy the process of having changing into different attire... I loved all my gowns, WG, EG and CS. I loved my CS especially... very vibrant and bubbly colour... its very me :) My EG colour i tink will turn out pretty well in photos.. i love the back... so flowy.. As for the WG, it has many layers.. even Kim (another designer) was saying.. u'll have probs during the shoot and i better get GOOD helpers on actual day to take care of the train, if not it will not look nice. Jessica is the best! She gave me wat i wanted and made it nice for me.

Birthday Dinner - Pre-advanced Celebration

Alvin has celebrated my birthday with me on Sat. He didnt get me a present as we hardly practise giving presents on birthdays, but we had a wonderful dinner at Hotel 1929, Ember. Nice fine dinning food, the red wine we ordered is pretty smooth too. We finally get to have a good rest after all the mad rush in the afternoon. The make-up i had was lasting... haha as I was still wearing it till midnight... good good... I feel loved during the dinner. We were very happy, enjoying our conversation, living in our own world though it was very rowdy in the restaurant. In short, we had a great time!

I haven't felt so hyper for a long time! This entire wedding preps is getting me so happy and excited... Alvin is currently in the flight, on his way to Korea for work. Will be back on 22nd, before on wedding shoot. So no choice we got to celebrate in advanced, but its okie. I know its kinda mushy... but i know that his heart is with me no matter where he is. This boring man has make me feel so sweet in my heart the entire week when he's back in SG. Realli spent loads of quality time together... he's the man! Now, i'm waiting for u to come back again.. and go thru the fun photoshoot together :)

Excited

I'm getting excited for this Saturday's happening. Can't help it... there's a certain amount of expectation on rings and gowns. It will be the day where i get to choose my flowers... the day i first seen the completed rings... and my gowns! The day i will officially meet the florist and the make-up artist, the 2 professionals i have heard a lot about. I think I got to change my name to Miss Anxiety! It's like "I cant wait anymore!! I want to get all the things done quickly, and stop keeping me in suspense!"

I was talking to a friend on msn... her wedding is next Monday, and i'm feeling very excited for her. She's very efficient and have gotten all her things ready, she is now waiting for the moment! She's a very pretty lady and i believe kind hearted too, to see the number of close frens she had on her hen's nite and most probably she's a Miss Popular too! I said i believe coz i do not know her well in person, but through the amt of conversations we had over msn, i can feel tat she's sincere and nice. She has been helpful in providing me valuable information for my gowns, shoes etc. Maybe we are using the same bridal shop tats why i feel connected to her...

I can't imagine if i'm in her shoes now (though i will be a few mths down the road)... i tink i will be sleepless every night! Just waiting for the final trial and i lost slp.. PS i will lose more slp and the Actual day??? I tink i need sleeping pills.. haha just thinking dun tink i will do it.. I've tried drinking organic chamomile tea.. it help soothes and calm me down so tat i can have better slp :) I tink after taking sleeping pills, most prob one will feel lethargic! I dun wan to feel restless on any of the big events! Its simple, i am vain and its my day so i jus want to look pretty. Nothing to hide, most honest feelings. ahaha i want to be pretty :)

Happy Weekend

The dinner on Friday with the Uni gals were great! The food is not bad but i find it too costly and perhaps over priced at meza9. I would think last year's dinner at Lawry's was slightly better. But this year, we have Jing with us from beginning of the dinner, she didnt come during dessert time only. Really enjoyed their company as i get to know the updates in their personal life. Also, a very big thank you for the treat!!! Next meet up will be somewhere next mth when Elaine is back. Will set the time and location then i'll inform you gals again.

My house is so close to completion, the granite top has been installed and it looks great (very close to the 3D drawings he showed us). I guess in mid July we will be able to shift in :) Won't be showing any more updates of the house till most of the items are in.. like TV, sofa etc. Alvin loves the house... its been 3 weeks and he has finally seen the close to completed house.

So glad he's back, getting him busy now. Went to make customised a shirt at $200 for him. Wanted this shirt to match my EG, but we decided to take a "gold" colour instead. Dun think it's necessary to take green just to match, as long as it's compatible i tink we are good :)I did a silly thing! I kept telling myself i wanted to use my Citibank credit card as i will get 10% bonus cash, but i can't rem when we were paying. 10% bonus cash is as good as giving us a cash rebate of $20 for my purchases elsewhere. So we paid nets instead... arghhhh angry... up till now i still feel angry :(

He has been so sweet, he actualli went to dye his hair with me :) As i didnt make an appointment, i waited for 2 hours before its my turn, and he waited for 3 hours or more, coz my hair will take a longer time so they actualli started with me. Poor chap, ganna tortured by me haha... We reach the salon at 12.30 and left at 7pm! Faintz, there goes our movie session.

He has been very patient with me as i've been easily irritatable and annoyed this weekend. One min I will smile sweetly like a little gal, next i will just get pissed off over small things that i seldom will. Because he is so nice and patient with me, i got over things very quickly and is back to the happy self. Perhaps he has been away for 3 weeks, so my system just tells me tat i can take him for granted when he's back and throw some tantrums so to feel pampered??? I duno, coz normally when he's back from a long trip, i will be very nice :) well, it could be due to the list of things we need to do that got me flustered. So dear mr lim, I'm sorry if i made things difficult for you this 2 days, and i wanna thank you for giving in to me. you're the best!

Exciting June!

Finally feeling pretty excited abt the things that's going to happen this month. My dearest is coming back from Japan after 3 weeks of absence in SG. Finally someone back to share the load with me :)

Here's the list of activities:
8th June
- Meet up with my uni gals... they are giving me an advanced birthday treat at Hyatt Mezza9... lets hope tat their food is good... feeling hungry now...

9th June
- my first project in the new company will start running.. hopefully everything goes well this week
- Meet up with the interior designer in ther afternoon
- Start shopping with Alvin on all the household items...
- Going to make one more shirt for Alvin :) hopefully it can be in time for the Photoshoot

10th June
- to catch some movies and just enjoy each other's accompany

15th Jun
- Some catching up with my poly mates after a long time!!!

16th June - SUPER PACKED
- to meet the designer florist in the earli afternoon, someone whom i yearned to meet for some time. Hopefully we can click well and he will design something special for me :)

- collecting our wedding bands, designed since June 2006. The design, though simple, is very meaningful to the both of us as it represents how we started... something thats worth the long wait

- We are going for our final fitting and trial make-up after collecting our rings. Hmm feeling nervous now.. wonder how the final pieces will look like... maybe becoz I've seen the 80% completed gowns before tat's why wasn't feeling nervous until today.. but right now i'm excited! Besides, with all these stress, i have lost some weight, so hopefully i will look better in it :) I think Alvin is also excited abt his suit :P

- Might meet up with the photographer if he has time to meet us

- Time for a NICE dinner! This is a pre-birthday celebration for me :) My last birthday dinner AS A GIRLFRIEND... so we are going to somewhere nice to celebrate my big day :)

17th June
- 2 Tvs, 1 fridge and washer will be arriving at our new house

20th June
- It's my birthday!!!!!!! opps, one year older and yet i'm so happy abt it. Got to work on my birthday this year as it's my first month here and i'm already taking leave for my photoshoot... so no choice :)

23rd June
- The sofa is coming... we finally have a place to sit :)

24th June
- Going for my mani and pedi so that i look pretty :)

25th June
- The day has come, our photoshoot! I wonder how is it going to be like... we haven't decided on the locations and style yet... finally getting worried :)

Not to forget i shd attend my facial appts timely.. have cancelled one recently, was not feeling well that day... hmm i must a good gal... so tat i can look pretty.. haha

and of coz, my house will be 90% completed... yesh ;p

Impressed...

I've just visited a newly wed's blog. They had beautiful pre-wedding shots taken. What really impressed me was their photo montage. The bride actually did up the entire thing! It's really a combination of hard work, patience and creativity! The thing is, she did a GREAT JOB, I felt that it was done better than some Paid jobs!

Perhaps, I'm quite a dumb ass in such video/etc soft wares, by asking me to do something like this COULD be possible BUT it will take me decades! Firstly, I am a procrastinator in my personal stuff (work can nvr procrastinate as there is always deadlines to meet... which is good, help organise my life a little), secondly I need time to figure out how to use the software and lastly I rather OPEN my mouth and ask my friends for help or pay someone to do it... So is there any kind souls out there who wanna help us with the photo montage???

Hehe actually i have someone in mind... but this person hardly reads my blog... hmm so let me hint hint to XXX and see if there is any reaction... keke... Come on, be nice :)

Personal Updates

Work
Thought of giving some personal updates... I've been in my new job for 2 weeks. Colleagues are pretty nice and patient. I've met some other newbies too and we kinda get along pretty well. Still trying to get used to the working procedures here as it's pretty systematic compared to my previous jobs. There are many levels, and I get to work with many different depts. Well, I like working with different ppl and levels, so there isn't much probs so far.

Life
Duno why, but have been feeling tired recently. Maybe bcoz I'm running the show myself to take care of the house, wedding preps etc as my other half has currently been outstation for 2 weeks. He wont be back till one week later... I tink i've fallen ill, had fever last nite after chilling out with some of my friends.

Been having nitemares abt my wedding. Gosh I think i must have bee thinking too much about it. Its about the wedding not the marriage (just in case u think i have phobia or commitment problems), the scenario was during the solemnization ceremony. One ring becomes five rings, and we got to fix the rings back to form into one ring just like Lego. haha weird rite? well this is just one, and there are a few more... So dear MR LIM, its time u come back and share the burden with me... reno, gowns... etc...

Getting things up

Progression is now slower... nothing much besides waiting for the materials to come in... we are now pretty close to completion...so just some photos update

The mirror and the black vanity glass top in the master toilet is up.

The Full Height Mirror in our mini walk-in-wardobe is up! This is huge, and the reflection makes the wardrobe looks longer and bigger.


Our toilets glass panels have been changed :) brand new :)


Our feature wall is closed to completion... adding the brown wall paper at the black and white wall paper on the TV feature wall... the wall paper has a nice texture... dun tink can be seen.


The mirrors in the dining area, bomb shelter display is up too :)


The kitchen sliding glass door has been installed.


My common toilet, bathroom sink and tap. Nice tap?? square basin, square nob for the tap.
